FAQ

Salted Details

Q. Where do you make your delicious caramels?
Our caramels are proudly crafted in a commercial kitchen in Killam, Alberta, Canada.

Q. How should I store my caramels after I purchase or receive them?
Our caramels are best stored at room temperature, away from heat and light. Each hand wrapped caramel is stored in a container that keeps most light out. They have a shelf life of 6 weeks at room temperature (3+ months in the freezer) … but we guarantee you will devour them long before ;)

Q. What ingredients are in your caramels?
Our caramels are always based on these six simple ingredients: brown sugar, butter, sweetened condensed milk, corn syrup, vanilla, and sea salt. Our limited-edition boxes feature flavored toppings added to our base caramel.

Q. What are the nutritional facts for your caramels?Nutritional information can be found here.

Q. Are your caramels gluten-free or vegan?
Our caramels are gluten free, however, they are not vegan.

Q. How do you support the environment and are you eco-friendly?
Team Salted is committed to making responsible decisions! We proudly sourced sustainable packaging that is made from post-consumer content, is printed with soy-based ink, and plants a tree for every 200 packages we order.

Salted Shipping

Q. How do you ship your caramels?
Orders within Canada are shipped via Canada Post (Expedited Parcel) and should arrive in 4-7 business days. Orders to the USA are shipped via Canada Post (USA Air) and should arrive in 10-14 business days.

Q. How long does it take for you to package and ship my tasty caramels?
Since our caramels are handmade in small batches, please allow 3-5 business days to process your order. Shipping times then vary based on location (see above). We do not offer same day or overnight shipping. We try to process and ship orders as fast as possible, but around major holidays and busy times we may run a little slower – our caramel making process is multi-day, and we want you to receive the FRESHEST package possible. We promise, it will be worth the wee little wait! If you need your package ASAP for a very special circumstance, please contact us directly at hello@shopsalted.ca before placing your order. We will do our best to accommodate :)

Q. It’s hot out! Will my caramels melt?
Our caramels are individually sealed and may get soft in the heat. They will be perfectly fine if you allow them to sit and adjust to room temperature prior to opening. We’re sure you want to eat them as soon as possible, but we do not recommend putting them in the refrigerator as this could make them sticky and more difficult to open.

Q. Do you offer local pick-up within Flagstaff County, Alberta?
You bet we do! If you would rather pick up in Sedgewick, Killam or Forestburg, Alberta to avoid shipping costs, please select “Local Pick-up” as your delivery option. We will contact you shortly after you place your order to make pick-up arrangements.
